Board Meeting Agenda

Date: Dec 2008

  • Review and accept previous meeting minutes

Officer updates

  • TBSP Patrol Finance Report (Diana)
The fiscal year of the Patrol will be October 1 through September 30.
Our 2007-2008 Board Treasurer was Diana.

  • Appoint Board Officer positions (Registrar/Treasurer and the
Board Secretary). Please read about these positions in the Manual:
11._Bylaws#Section_C:_Board_Officers
  • Discussion of Recruiting and Instructor Training activities
  • Consider moving next year's OTH to a more snow-guaranteed weekend later in the season
  • Minimum number of patrollers per patrol: (submitted by patrol membership)
my understanding has always been that a viable patrol
is a minimum of 3 certified patrollers (maybe 2 depending on some other
factors). That doesn't include candidates regardless of whether they've
had OEC or not. I'd feel a tad more comfortable if
there were 2 patrollers and an OEC candidate comprising a patrol team.

According to the Manual: "Minimum patrol is 1 full patroller and 1 strong candidate..." 04._Patroller_Roles (at large)

  • Candidate identification
I think there should be some distinction for us
and for the public between a trained patroller and a candidate. Not just about
earning the cross, but also because there may be a possible liability issue.

(at large)

  • Expanding the board
Create (or imply) adjunct board member (non-voting) especially a
candidate coordinator who should be a candidate (thus cannot be a full
board member due to 1 year rule) Strongly encourage this person (and many
others) to come share pizza at the Board meetings. This will encourage
successful meetings as they will become less routine.

(at large)

  • Fiscal Year Accounting
Board resolution mandating that expenses must be
submitted before the end of the calendar year following the end of the
fiscal year (or sooner).

Example:
  TBSP Fiscal Year 2008: Oct 1,2007 - Sept 30, 2008 (per Bylaws)
Expenses must be submitted by Dec 31, 2008 for reimbursement.

  • Patrol Commitment
Operations refresher should be counted in the Patrol Commitment section of the Manual.

Also, discuss a "recruiting" or "help out" aspect to the patrol commitment.
